About Hind
Hind brings authentic Indian street-food snacks to Braunschweig — traditional recipes, fresh spices, honestly prepared.
“Hind” is the old name for India — the region every one of our recipes comes from. We cook traditional street food, freshly prepared, for everyone keen to discover real Indian flavours.

Vada Pav
A fried potato dumpling in a soft bun.
Vegetarian
Homemade bread with a golden-fried potato dumpling. Crispy outside, soft inside — perfect for a quick snack or to share. Served with homemade mint-coriander sauce (contains peanuts).

Onion Pakora
Onion strips marinated fresh daily, fried until crispy.
Vegan
Made fresh every day: onion strips marinated with lemon and a blend of spices, fried golden in a chickpea-flour batter — no cereal flour at all. Crispy, aromatic and irresistible.
Pani Puri
Crispy puri with filling and two aromatic waters.
Vegan
Pani Puri — the original flavour bomb. Crispy, hollow puri shells filled with spiced potato and chickpeas, topped with fine sev, and served with two aromatic waters: a fresh minty-coriander water and a tangy tamarind water. You crack one open, fill it, and eat it in a single bite — crunchy, spicy, tangy, and refreshing all at once.

Dahi Puri
Crispy puri filled with spices and yoghurt.
Vegetarian
Dahi Puri — the modified flavour bomb. Crispy, hollow puri shells filled with spiced potato, fresh onions, tomato, green homemade sauce (coriander, mint and peanuts) and red sauce (tamarind and dates), topped with yoghurt.

A big fried vada, smashed open and piled with chutneys and yoghurt.

Vegan possible — without yoghurt
A street-food take on a Mumbai classic. One big, craggy vada — spiced potato, hand-shaped and fried — smashed open so the soft, fragrant filling meets the toppings. Aside, crisp raw onion and fresh tomato, tangy tamarind and bright green coriander chutney, finished with cool yoghurt and torn coriander. Crunchy, creamy, sweet, sour and spicy in one messy bite.

Grilled sandwich with fresh vegetables and green chutney.

Bombay Sandwich — Mumbai's favourite street snack. Layers of fresh cucumber, boiled potato, onion, beetroot and tomato between soft bread, spread with our homemade green chutney and grilled until crisp and golden. Cool, crunchy, tangy and a little spicy, all in one. The vegetables are sliced fresh and the chutneys are made in-house every morning — simple ingredients, done properly.

Sev Puri
Crispy puri with potato, chutneys and a mountain of sev.
Vegan
Loaded Crunch — a plate of chaat built for texture. Crispy flat puri crackers piled with boiled potato, fresh onion and tomato, drizzled with our homemade tamarind and green coriander chutneys, then buried under a mountain of fine, crunchy sev. Sweet, sour, spicy and impossibly crunchy in every bite. The chutneys are made in-house and each puri is topped to order, so the crunch is always fresh — never soggy, never sitting around.

The Food Truck
"Der Erste Biss" is a food-truck initiative bringing famous Indian street-food snacks to people across Germany. Born in Braunschweig — for everyone who wants to experience their first bite of real street food.
